The Rayahin Organization for Agricultural Development participated in a consultative meeting held by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, to discuss the activities of organizations concerned with combating desertification and climate change in Iraq. The organization's representative, Dr. Ghazwan Hussam Tawfiq, was present.
The meeting included a review of the most prominent efforts of organizations working in the environmental field, as well as a discussion of future plans aimed at reducing desertification and strengthening adaptation measures to climate change. The role of the governorates in supporting these national efforts was also examined.
During his participation, Dr. Ghazwan Hussam Tawfiq emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between government institutions and civil society organizations. He highlighted the Rayahin Organization's role in implementing sustainable agricultural programs and environmental awareness initiatives that contribute to protecting natural resources.
