Mr. Alaa Abdul Sattar Al-Ani, representative of the Rayahin Agricultural Development Organization, participated in a scientific seminar entitled "Water Consumption and Rationalization," organized by the Lujain Organization for Women and Child Protection and Sustainable Development, in cooperation with the Anbar Governorate Water Resources Directorate.

This participation aimed to raise awareness about the importance of sound water resource management and to highlight best practices in reducing waste and achieving optimal water use, especially in light of the environmental and climatic challenges facing the region.

The seminar included discussions on several important topics, including methods for rationalizing water consumption in the agricultural and domestic sectors. Emphasis was placed on the importance of adopting modern irrigation technologies such as sprinkler, drip, and closed-loop irrigation as effective alternatives to surface irrigation, given their significant role in reducing water loss, increasing water use efficiency, and improving agricultural production. The symposium also addressed the issue of water pollution, highlighting the dangers of discharging untreated sewage and improper waste disposal practices by some departments and institutions. These practices contribute to the deterioration of water quality and threaten public health and the environment, necessitating stricter monitoring and awareness measures to mitigate this phenomenon.

During his participation, Mr. Al-Ani emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between government institutions and civil society organizations to promote a culture of sustainable water use, thereby contributing to the protection of natural resources and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.

This event is part of a series of activities aimed at raising environmental awareness and promoting positive behaviors towards natural resources within the community.
